How can i tell when my cam belt was last changed?

I recently bought a Ford Focus. It has done 72K, and i'm wondering about the cam belt. I have no details of when it was last changed. Is there any way to find out?How can i tell when my cam belt was last changed?My husband said that you should get it changed to be on the safe side, he said it will cost you loads of money if it does go coz it can cause loads of damage to your car.
