How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car?

She wears her lap belt, but always insists on putting the shoulder part of the belt under her arm. I insist that it's not anywhere near as safe, and i don't want to budge on this. SHE claims that it chokes her, and that's why she won't wear it. She feels that i'm badgering her too much about it, and wants me to just let it go. I need a site or something that shows statistics of what happens without just the shoulder belt.

Any help would be majorly appreciated! How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car? Some people will never learn. Simply refuse to start the car until her seat belt is worn properly, or refuse to carry her as a passenger in your car. If she really wants to be with you, she'll eventually come around. How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car?Three-point: Similar to the lap and sash, but one single continuous length of webbing. Both three-point and lap-and-sash belts help spread out the energy of the moving body in a collision over the chest, pelvis, and shoulders. Until the 1980s three-point belts were commonly available only in the front seats of cars, the back seats having only lap belts. Evidence of the potential for lap belts to cause separation of the lumbar vertebrae and the sometimes associated paralysis, or %26quot;seat belt syndrome%26quot;, has led to a revision of passenger safety regulations in nearly all of the developed world requiring that all seats in a vehicle be equipped with three-point belts. By September 1, 2007, all new cars sold in the US will require a lap and shoulder belt in the center rearHow can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car?well if you get into an accident, that could take off her arm, i'd at-least recommend her putting the shoulder part behind her completely. at-least the lap belt is a start. maybe you could buy her one of those padded shoulder things that velcro on to the seat-belt so it won't bother her as much. How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car?If she does not wear it , you don't start the car. If she is driving you don't go with her. Tell her you would rather have an annoyed wife than a dead fiancee. How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car?My father was basically the same way. We got in the car one day and I asked him to put it on, he whined and said %26quot;I am an adult and I will do what I want.%26quot; My reply was, %26quot;So am I and we aren't budging until it goes on and stays on.%26quot; Stand your ground and be firm. It isn't that you are trying to start an argument or make her uncomforable, the fact is you want her safe.

Good Luck. How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car? When I was in high school, a couple of police officers came and warned us about the dangers of careless road safety. To reduce the discomfort of the shoulder belt, she can sit on a cushion in the car... this will also be safer for her since it will position her better in the seat belt.

Also they sell seatbelt 'covers'.. I've seen them at Walmart for a dollar, they will help reduce discomfort also. How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car?Screw statistics! DRIVE your point home. When safe to do so, go driving with her and when you get to 45 or 50 MPH hit your brakes HARD. You don't have to stop the car completely, just give that jolt that a wreck would give a lot more of. It may piss her off but you'll get your point across and you can comfort her with the fact that had it been an actual collision the air bag would have eased her discomfort when it snapped her neck. They do deploy with enough force to do that! How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car?what kind of car? many have adjustable height shoulder belts. The airbags in the car are dangerous if the seat belt isn't on properly. They have a system that will take in the slack of a seat belt milliseconds before the airbags go off...not wearing the seat belt properly means that you won't be all the way back in your seat and the airbag will cause serious damage to the face and neck...there are seat belt clips available that will bring the two straps closer together and take some of the pressure off her neck but make sure that if the seat belt is pulled back, she is pulled back into the seat. otherwise, it's ineffective. How can i convince my fiancee to wear her shoulder belt when in the car?If you are gona wear a seatbelt, Where is propally. If they DON'T, stop trying to control her. She's too stubborn to cooperate. This situation will not improve in the future, so give some thought to THAT before marriage.
