I have a Bissel healty home vaccum clenaer . The belt has slipped a little and is makeing a rubber smell . I want to putthe belt on straight so this stops before it breaks but my warrenty says to not take the vaccum appart . Has anyone changed a belt on this model of vaccum before without having to take it in for service . Why would you consider violating the warranty? You do not know for sure that the belt is, in fact, not straight -- or slipping or that the belt is the cause of something burning within the machine.
To protect yourself, the warranty, and the machine --- take it to the service technician. You spent good $$$$ for the machine . . . why throw the investment down the tubes by messing with it?
