How much should it cost to replace a drive belt for a 95 Toyota Corolla? Dealer is charging $130?

I brought my car in for regular maintenance, and I'm already paying for a lot of other work when they noticed that I needed the belt replaced too. Would it be better to just try to find a local garage? How much should it cost to replace a drive belt for a 95 Toyota Corolla? Dealer is charging $130?I try to use the local garage whenever possible. The labor rates are lower and frequently the parts are a lower price also. I would think that $50.00 or less would buy the belt and the rest is labor. How much should it cost to replace a drive belt for a 95 Toyota Corolla? Seek a shopHow much should it cost to replace a drive belt for a 95 Toyota Corolla? Dealer is charging $130?That doesn't sound bad for a dealer. I had drive belt changed at local shop and paid about the same priceHow much should it cost to replace a drive belt for a 95 Toyota Corolla? Dealer is charging $130?That is a fair price, especially for a dealer. If you can afford it, go ahead and let him do it. If you go to a shop, you might get it done a little cheaper but not much. You are probably getting a break on the dealer price due to the other work they are doing.

You could always try to negotiate the price with the dealer IF the other work entails taking the belt off anyway. It seems fair for them to sell you the belt and install it for free.. IF ..they already have the car apart for the other work. They have to put the belt back on whether it is a new one or the old one.How much should it cost to replace a drive belt for a 95 Toyota Corolla? Dealer is charging $130?It shouldn't cost anywhere near $130 to replace that belt. Even Jiffy Lube will change it for around $50. If you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, take it to a shop. $130 is a ripoff.
